If you build it, they will come

Many companies who don't use their websites to recruit staff directly, are really missing out on their prime marketing tool to recruit - their own company website! Assuming (dangerous I know!) that the website looks good and is informative about  your company, then there is no reason to doubt that people would want to work for you........is there?

Obviously if there are issues around your employment brand and track record of hiring staff, then that is something that needs some work to change that. But the main thing to bear in mind is that prospective employees are now getting more savvy towards jobs.
A recent post by Monica Hamburg, a social media writer says:
Companies should keep in mind that there is now, more than ever, a balance of power with e-recruiting.  Businesses can learn more about candidates and attract ideal employees, but employees have the same ability to research businesses and find their perfect workplace.  With that in mind, company culture has become an immense selling point for prospective hires.  The use of a company’s own videos and pictures can entice candidates by giving them a glimpse of the inner workings and presenting the human side of the company.

If you build it (a career site , job pages etc) then jobseekers will come to it and there will be a future pipeline of staff. But if companies don't embrace recruiting via their own website using tools such as Jobinablog.com and happily give recruitment agencies instead all their hard earned profits then they really are bonkers!!
